Very Good Lives by J K Rowling

Books had shaped my entire life. That’s just plain fact. I don’t know who I would be if I wasn’t such a reader. In truth I had difficulty reading as a child and one of the best memories I have is my father coming into my room with Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone. He made a deal with me that night, I would read one page and he would read the next, if we reached the end of the book I would get a prize. That’s not what ended up happening at all, both of us fell in such love with the book and I grew so impatient with how slow the story went when I read that he read three quarters of the book to me.

This could have been seen as a failure but it was the exact opposite, for this is my success story.
